Exploring Christianity / Tales of the Unexpected

Everyone likes a good story, especially when there’s a surprise at the end.

Jesus is famous for the stories he told. And many people still read and listen to his words today. Why? — because Jesus’ words seem to understand us and explain us. And they open up the way for us to know God.

In Tales of the Unexpected you’ll find four simple but startling stories that Jesus told. You’ll find some surprising things about yourself, about God and about life.

Using a modern, easy-to-understand translation of the Bible, and the accompanying DVD, Tales of the Unexpected will help you understand who Jesus is, why he came, and the difference he can make for people today.

The next 4-week evening course open to anyone starts on Monday 21st May at 8 p.m. meeting in Christ Church. For more details, including information about daytime courses that will be running soon, please contact the church office.

Who is it for? You, if you're either…

Curious: We'll be looking at Jesus' life, teaching, death, resurrection and the claims he makes on people today.

or

Questioning: You might be a person of strong belief or none. Bring your questions and decide for yourself whether the answers are convincing!

or

A Christian: Many who are already following Jesus have found it helpful to have a 'refresher course'.

What's it like?

As we explore aspects of the Christian faith there's no question too simple or hostile, and any view will be treated with respect. If you like, you can just sit in and listen; no-one will be put on the spot.

Why not take this opportunity to ask some of the big questions of life? You are very welcome!

Christianity Explored will return in the Autumn.
